I usually use video redo to cut out commercials and then burn on a DVD using Ulead 3. I'm wondering if anyone has done a sort of comparison between videoredo and comclean to see which one does a better job with the end product.
If you want to know why nPVR is the bomb, ask my wife!

VideoReDo does a better job.
If you've paid for it, definitely keep it.
Comclean does work, but can cause serious hiccups at the joins.
I'm still editing manually, because comclean just doesn't work as well as it could (not comclean's problem, but mpegtx's problem), and the developer of mpegtx has quit working on it.
Sure wish they'd drop the price on VRD though, $50 US seems a bit pricey.
You can never have enough tuners!

Videoredo not only repairs the timeline but also does frame accurate cutting.
Comclean creates a broken timeline and does GOP cutting (in average 7 frames error on PVR150)
Both can be run in batch, comclean/mpgtx is faster (but it does considerale less)

If you also want to review all the cutpoints before applying then both comskip together with comclean and videoredo can do that

In short: I agree with reboot, also about the price Big Grin
