Hi, I just received my tuner and got the channels ready but don't know how to set up my remote so I am here seeking for help. What can I do to customize my MCE remote? Thanks

Edit: BTW, I am using this with GB-PVR. Thanks

The PVR150MCE doesnt usually come with a remote, but I'm guessing you got some bundle than includes an MCE remote? If so there isnt really anything you can customize, but you should be able to use it by the setting the remote type to 'MCE' in the config app.

I assume you are referring to the MCE2005 remote. I am currently using this. I am using girder with most buttons mapped to keyboard shortcuts. This allows me to also customize how i want all of the buttons configured. There are walkthroughs on girder's website in the forums on getting the MCE2005 remote working in WindowsXP (as the drivers are only found in Windows MCE2005).

Girder has a very brutal learning curve, but given the amount of customization, it can be extremely useful.

I don't know but this is what I got http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/Produ...sting.aspx

Is there a plug in that I need to download inorder to get the remote working? I want to enable my remote to open up winamp, start button and other applications.

I couldn't get girden to work, any help? TIA

Edit: I didn't install any programs from the package including the software. I just downloaded GB-PVR and set up my channels.

There is no GB-PVR plugin that'll help you use your remote with other applications. That said, you should be able use the remote with GB-PVR just by setting the remote type to MCE in the Config app.

Either Girder or HIP should be able to help you use your remote with other apps.

That's what I did but it didn't give me the option to config the remote. Here's a picture. [IMG][Image: untitled4vg.th.jpg][/IMG]

There shouldnt be any option to configure the remote. When the MCE remote is selected, most of the buttons should just work in GB-PVR. up/down/left/right/colours/1-9/stop/play/pause etc.

I have no control over the "start" button in GB-PVR, so that one definitely wont work.

Quote:My TV, My Music, My Picture and My Video
Are those shared with the coloured buttons on your remote? My MCE2005 remote doesnt have buttons with these labels.

I have the same problem, only about half of of the MCE buttons work.

Will that gridder app mentioned about work? Is it freeware?

If the MCE remote is NOT the way to go, what remote should be be getting?

Seems like several vendors are now including free MCE remotes in packages for the holiday season.
