Would it be possible to have a small TV window in GBPVR? Like a preview.

Let's say you're watching TV and you want to check the weather. You hit Menu then you go to the Weather tab. While you're checking the weather, you have a small window on the bottom left corner showing the TV show you're watching.

Or like when you're watching TV and you want to setup a recording in the TV guide you hit menu but you still can watch the show on a TV window somewhere on your screen (so you don't miss anything while you're doing other stuff)

No. This has been discussed several times in the past. I will not be adding any small video window. This would not be compatible with XCard/PVR350/MVP.

Just press F11 to bring up the TV Guide, then schedule a recording as you normally would.

Ah ok. Thanks for the reply sub.

I didn't know that it was discussed before. I tried searching for "Preview" or "Small TV Window" and nothing came up.

Ok so the little tv window won't fly but what about this?

You know how the TV Guide overlays as a transparent strip on the bottom when you call it up? Can the same be done for the "Search Guide" or the other things?

Like lets say you wanted to check the weather (and you have the weather plugin installed) you press a button on your remote and the small transparent strip which displays information will display the weather info, current time, etc?

Yes, you can already do this by editing the config.xml's VideoPlugins. To access plugin number 3, just press '3' then 'Go' on the Hauppauge remote. If you're using the keyboard use F11 instead of GO.

you can already do this, theres just no real documentation on it. open the config.xml file and youll see <VideoPlugin0> thru to <VideoPlugin9> you can set these to any plugin you like. then activate it using "1" "Go" or "9" "Go" etc, and the full plugin will be shown over the video (well depending on the plugin, it might be a special version for ontop of the video).

if you need more help just do a search (too lazy to explain it any further).

EDIT: sub beat me to it Smile

Instead of doing "3" ---> "GO" is there a way to map the thing to one of the buttons on the remote?

In my irremote.ini file the current layout for example on the videos is:

VIDEOS={f3}

I was thinking of changing it so that even though I'm watching TV, I can hit the VIDEOS button on my remote and call up the VIDEOS window. But it's not possible.

Can't the stuff mapped to the function buttons be called while watching TV?

No there isnt. I had run out of buttons, and needed a different scheme for these video plugins.
