Digital terrestrial boxes and ir blasters

Ok, I threw this out over at usb-uirt forums, but no reply, so I thought why not ask here too.

I'm about to go digital terrestrial (moving away from cable, and analogue will shut down here soon), so I'm looking for a set top box, available in Sweden, that can be controlled either by usb-uirt (preferred) or by hauppauge pvr-150 (or any other way, by all means, but I don't want to spend a fortune on this). The box I'm most interested in is the Dilog dt-355 (because it has gotten very good reviews, especially good for areas with weaker signals, they say), but other boxes would also be possible, I guess.

Anyone has any experience with these and can confirm a combination of hardware that works?

I believe you use dvb-t over there so why not buy a dvb-t card such as the wintv nova-t unless of course your going the set top box route as you want to use a cam. A dvb-t card in the UK is just slightly more than a usb uirt.

Yeah, the problem is with the CAM... we have five freeview channels, and they don't show much of interest ;-) Otherwise you'd be correct. When GBPVR supports CA-modules and the CA-modules get a bit cheaper... ;-)

Have you looked at http://www.digital-everywhere.com/cms/en/index.php this might be what your looking for although no gbpvr support with cam, but I do believe they use BDA drivers so you might want to check it out obviously if its within your budget. You will have to use a 3rd party app for CAM recordings or badget sub to put CAM support back in.

Thank's, even though I think I'd be better off with a STB... I don't trust any other apps than GBPVR ;-) Now, if I could just find out about hardware that guaranteed would work together...

Otherwise, the dreambox seems like a nice solution (having RJ45 in the back) www.dreamboxx.nu. Its availible in a number of different sizes.

I can't recieve DVB-T myself since the slave station does not broadcast it yet (I'm loocated behind a shielding hill.:-(

Since I don't know how it works, I don't know how complicated it would be to support.

with the usbuirt.
I use this option with my GBPVR to control Satellite.
