Let me ask you a dumd question. Do I need my sound card installed? I removed it to make room. I only use this box for pvr, It will do nothing else and I will not watch tv on the monitor.

Are you using the tv out on the PVR350? If so, you wont need a sound card, unless you plan on listening to net radio, MP3s, or FM radio. Straight recording and playback of tv shouldnt need a sound card.

You shouldnt need a soundcard then.
Can you run the attached utility, and post the resulting filtercheck.log file?

Everything looked fine in device manager so I thought it was good. I uninstalled the drivers, removed the 350 re-booted with the 500 in it and l pointed to the drivers off the cd (should I use the latest drivers off Hauppauge's website? or is there better drivers to use?)and it worked. I didnt think the drivers worked in XP. I thought it was only for the Media Center. For now I think all is well... Thank you for your time. |
