Hi all,

I am looking for a video of the October 30, 2005 "Meet the Press." I have searched online pretty extensivly, and found a transcript of said show, the podcast of the most recent show, and clips of the show in question, but they leave out the section I need to track down. I searched limewire and a few torrent sites, though I don't usually use torrent so I don't know if I used the best engines.

Can anyone help me out here? Anybody happen to PVR it and still have it?!? Any ideas how to get this video? I don't even mind paying (reasonably) for it, but I do need to find it.

What thinks you?

I thought most stations sold copies of pretty much everything they broadcast. Typical is <$20.

I was thinking that. Any ideas how to get a hold of the people who will sell it to me at MSNBC/NBC?

Thanks!

From the help page at MSNBC:

NBC News permission requestsSadDateline, Today Show, Nightly News, Meet the Press, NBC News Specials)
To obtain a printed transcript of an NBC News program, please call Burrelle's Transcripts at: 1-800-777-TEXT. Transcripts are available for programs from 1990 to present.

Requests for a VHS copy of an NBC News segment (complete programs are not available) for personal use, please call: 212-329-5615
Note: This number is for NBC News segments ONLY. NBC News segments are available for 50 days from date of broadcast, after 50 days, segments are no longer available.

So it looks like i am up shit creek as far as purchasing a copy. I called MSNBC HQ in New Jersey and the operater told me that they do not sell Meet the Press and do not contract any third parties to do so either.

Ugh!

Except you need to call NBC, since it is only rebroadcast on MSNBC

Unless that is what you meant, which is probably the case, since I gave the NBC number.

I don't think you're going to find a large--or even small-cache of Meet the Press people w/ that kind or retention, but I wish you luck.

May be the next plugin for GBPVR should be a time machine so you could go back and record it? Big Grin

What program would you use to transfer a file that big if you could find a member with the episode?

Well if they could encode it into Divx, it would be something like 150-200 MB, which could be done over an AIM file transfer.
