I'd like to see an integrated way to burn recorded TV shows to DVD, using GBPVR. It would be even better, if it edited out the comercials Comskip has detected. (sorry if there is already an existing way to do this or plugin, but I looked around and couldnt find anything)

you could use comclean to remove the commericals, and then use my videos to burn them to dvd.

I've tried that, but getting myvideos to work has proven to be very difficult. The dvdauthor program needed by it is only downloadable in a format that contains no executable files, so I cant figure out what to do to get it working. (i've posted a question about it on the plugins forum).
Anyways though, I mean I'd like to see DVD burning fully integrated into GBPVR like how comskip now is, with options under the config program, simple install (without having to download so many different programs from all over the net to get it to work like with myvideos now), etc.

Sorry, but I have no immediate plans to include any DVD burning, so it may be worth persisting with trying to get MyVideos working.

Thats alright, its just a wish on my wishlist anyways Smile
And the wiki page for the Myvideos plugin should probably be updated to further explain the dvdauthor install process, and that the downloaded files need to be compiled (i think) in order to work. (it's a guide for dummies, after all, and I sure can't figure it out)

they dont need to be compiled, if you cant find the binaries just use google, its a very common tool.

you were probably just downloading the linux version.

I'm not sure what binaries are, but the files at http://dvdauthor.sourceforge.net/ claim to be "precompiled win32 binaries", so theyre for windows, and are binaries i guess. But the files in the dvdauthor-0.6.11.tar.gz file end up being:

0.6.9 is that latest precompiled version, if you notice in the "type" column you downloaded a "source" and not a ".exe (32 bit Windows)" file.

source forge changed their website, and yeah this isnt as clear as it use to be.

binaries = compiled.

Ah, that clears things up on why I was getting all the crazy files... I figured it must be uncompiled source code but I didnt realize there were earlier versions for download that also had .exe files already compiled. I was just trying to get the newest version.
Thanks for the help, and clarifying what I was downloading. Sourceforge should compile the newest version for people like me! Wink
