Hello

I have recently been putting together a media PC and this program was recommended by a few people. So far it has proved to be the easiest and most comprehensive free package out there so thank you.

And now my problem.

I have been running GBPVR fine for a few days but wanted to set up my remote on my Compro DVB T200 to work with it. I had a look around and got a program called HIP which seemed to be working really well at regonising my remote and passing through the commands to GBPVR. However after a few start ups I noticed I couldnt control the screen anymore and found that a new window was opening up. This window is called GDI+ Window but doesnt seem to open up into anything. Due to this window loading up and being at the front it takes all presidance and i cant control GBPVR again till i click on the main GBPVR window. This is an issue for me as i was hoping to run the box with out a mouse or keyboard and just boot stright in to GBPVR. The HIP program looks to be causing this as when it is closed i never seem to get the GDI window loading. The window is in the image below.

Any ideas on how to correct this?

This is the first time I've ever seen this mentioned.

I suspect you might need to talk to the author of HIP to get a resolution on this one.

Hi

I am currently looking for the support section of there site and get an equally long winded post put there.

Is there any pointers to what this GDI+ window is as it does seem to be comming from GBPVR?

Just to confirm this is a HIP issue.
Seems to happen with other applications as well.

Thanks for your time though sub

i get this too, but i think it only started appearing when i set the 'windows class name' in hip, its something to do with frcing hip to send the commands to GBPVR regardless of focus. i only get it when ive been faffing around with settings in hip and closing/restarting gbpvr. if you are just starting up HIP and GBPVR for normal usage then it doesnt usually appear....

I started getting this same GDI window when I set GBPVR to be the default shell upon boot.

Thing is, I don't have HIP installed.

So, I suspect the GDI issue is not a HIP-related thing at all.

It is a bugger that I can't control the box after a boot unless I first issue an alt-tab on the keyboard first. Then all is fine.

Help!

i also get this.

win XP SP2, no other software installed. havent even got a TV card installed yet..

GBPVR is set to be the shell as per the wiki instructions.

complete pain in the Rs as you have to change the focus by clicking or ALT+TAB'ing before you can do anything with GBPVR..

any ideas on a fix anyone??

The attached patch performs the step recommended on that page.
