I am using "XWrite" under the skin "Flat Blue High Visibility". To make my wife working with it I tried to translate it in Italian, but there is no way to localize it (a part a few things).
There is also same parts that couldn't be seen because of the character size too big.
Anybody know how to do it?

Have a look to this thread, Mixman did a really good job and provided a tool for that. You only have to identify english strings used and generate the correct translation using excel/macro. It should work except if language's plugin is hardcoded

I did it but there is no reference to the Xwrite plugin in the Excel file (or even I haven’t seen).
I tried to translate some plugins by modifying the language.xml and even the skin.xml but some parts are left as they are even if they have been translated.
It happened with both Xwrite and the Weather plugins.
As I would release a language.xml for the italian language to anybody is interested about I need to know how to modify the english words even in plugins and not only in the main program.
Anyway I will modify the "GBPVR Translation" excel file for a better italian localization.Wink

If plugin is not included yet, you just have to add new strings (english for all language and italian for italian one) onto the excel file. That way, you will be able to generate corresponding language.xml file and other translators would be able to update it too.

I also had troubles with some plugin, just check if sentence and word are exactly writting as shown as in the screen, take care also about "space" would could be left at the end of sentence for example. Translation is working comparing string so if there is a differrence, this will not match.

Great and good luck
