Ok I have a directory of around 7000 WMAs

I would like to auto convert these to mp3 and put the track info into the ID tag, hopefully with the option of renaming the file based on the ID tag - What is the best (free Big Grin) software?

The rest of my music collection is stored in a directory structure (Artist -> Album -> Track). - Is there any software that can convert this massive directory into a more organised structure like this? - Or is there a benefit to having them all in one directory, and use Music Library2? (seems a bit messy to me)

Thanks for any input

dbpoweramp will do the conversion job
see the last posting in the following thread for its location http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...dbpoweramp

you might want to look at "the godfather" for re-organising or re-tagging but it has a very steep learning curve

"eags on" is also a good tag program as is mediamonkey

I know cdex used to batch encode wma files. And that was free.

Not sure about your directory structure though. One thing you could do is take a directory list (dir *.mp3 /s/b > file.bat) then change the file.bat to add some mkdir (make directory) commands to split files out.

Kinda kludgie, but if you only have to do it once......

Then you could use any of the music players, or ML2 depending how how organised you made your structure.

I suggest MediaMonkey
Very easy to learn, yet very powerful.
