InterCodeDelay setting?

Hi,

I saw a reference on another topic about a setting in the IR definitions for InterCodeDelay, but a search of the forums (and using google) comes up blank.  

I have a new sat box, but it is a bit slow accepting IR commands.  With BeyondTV I increased the delay between numbers to 500ms, and the whole thing worked perfectly but with GBPVR, I can't get more than the first number entered.  Can someone shed some light on the InterCodeDelay syntax?  I tried just putting a line:

in my IR definition, but this didn't seem to do anything.

All right, I'm starting to pull my hair out...

I played around today with both Sage and Beyond TV, and both of them were able to control my Satellite box without any problem (Canal Digital ComboBox).

I have tried Adjusting the InterCodeDelay setting on the IR files (as well as retraining more than a dozen times and taking the cleanest outputs), but have not had any luck in increasing the accuracy. I have also tried to work with Girder, and although I have had better success, it is still a hit or miss operation.

I found a reference to both an internumber and an intersequence delay. Could there be a delay that is not being accounted for in GBPVR?

Try also fiddling repeat count. The defaults are:

I found that with my bell expressvu Sat box I had to set the Repeatcount to 5

I've tried that as well, ranging from 1 to 9, with no noticable change in the success rate.

One thing that I did notice was that with BeyondTV, the pulses were very spaced out. With GBPVR, even with a 1000 delay, the pulses all come very fast - Certainly not 1 second apart.

Also, so far every time I make a change in the file, I reload GBPVR. Is this necessary, or does the program consult the IR definition file every time that it needs it?

You need to restart the GB-PVR Recording Service each time you change the file. This is the component that uses the USB-UIRT.

Restarting the user interface (GBPVR.exe) isn't enough.

I was restarting the PVR service after each change - that was not the issue.

Well, just to close the topic out, here's how I ended up solving the issue...

After getting too frustrated with the USB UIRT controls in GBPVR, I switched to Girder.

In Girder, using the GBPVR Commands --> Messages --> Receive --> GB_TUNE_X, I selected Plugins --> USB-UIRT Driver --> Settings

I made multiple learns of the remote, and removed the batteries before some of the learns.  This is because the remote has a rotating command structure and I wanted to make sure that I had an initial keypress command, not a &quot;repeat&quot;.  I do not know if this makes a difference, but I wanted to remove the variable.  After getting a good syntax, I set the repeat to 2, and the wait to 100ms.  I am still experimenting with these though, because I only get about 90-95% accuracy.

I also created a null command (I used the Mute key on the satellite receiver, and within Girder, I have the null command activated as a &quot;Do when finished&quot;

Hope this helps someone else.  This has been an incredibly long project (4+ months), starting with MythTV (which I was never able to get working right) and ending with GB-PVR.
