I have nearly finished an early version of the Files plugin. It currently copies files and folders from one pane to another.

In the future, I plan to implement File Exlporer like functionallity - move, delete, rename, file type filters etc.

Will post the dll's and skin on here tonight.

No problem, I'm taking this plugin quite slow.

Together with some some internal workings I would like to change, I plan to add features one by one.

Ideas currently on my todo list include:

• Add some kind of progress bar. (It's currently single threaded so GBPVR will not respond until the copy etc is finished).
  
• Add error handling code in the plugin. For example if the MP3 player is full it will currently quit to the GBPVR main menu.
  
• Add option to hide drives - Have decided against this it is hard to implement and kind of goes against a File Manager rule of thumb.
  
• Implement the rename button if/when I can figure out how to use the onscreen keyboard,.
  
• Add support for file type filters, For example if set to Music files, this would stop wasting space on a MP3 player by not copying all the folder.jpg files.
  
• Add ability to edit Favorite folders from the config app.
  
• Format the data in the the entry info panel better (looking to add the ability to shorten paths eg "E:\My Documents\user\Computer stuff\Shuttle Stuff\confirm_files" would appear somthing like "E:\My Documents\user...\Shuttle Stuff\confirm_files\" ).
  
• And in the far future add the ability to hit Play and the plugin would play/show/run selected MP3/picture/program etc.

Note: I will edit this post and remove items that have been added to the Files, and add more as and when I think of them.

one question: i presume the file selected when i bring up the menu will be moved/copied to the other folder? Does this work both ways? ie phone to hard drive?

Screen shot and attached zip, is the latest version.

I've been testing the Copy, Move and Delete functions. They seem ok. If you want to take a look and test with your devices first download the attached zip. Then:

• Extract FilesPlugin.dll to \gbpvr\plugins
  
• Make a new folder called Files in \gbpvr\skin and extract skin.xml there.
  
• Lastly extract GbpvrUiElements.dll to \gbpvr.

How to use:
Up/Down traverses the lists.
Enter opens the selected sub folder.
Pressing Enter on a [..] takes you up a level.

Left/Right switches between panes.
Green toggles the highlight on an item
Blue displays the actions menu.The left hand pane is the 'doing' pane. Ie copy and move actions go from left to right, delete operates on the highlighted items in the left hand pane.
Yellow swaps the panes around.

Yes, simply have the phone on the left pane and the hard drive on the right.

i don't know, if it's yet possible, but wouldn't it be nice to have a shortcut, which flips the sides? just an idea...

evening,

just given this a quick 10 minutes and everything seems good so far...

copies done:

local to network and usb stick, usb to network and local, network to usb and local.

also tried 'move' which didnt throw up any prolems either

nice stuff :-D
