Hi all,

What's the best software (maybe cheapest/free would be good to) to allow me to take snippets out of a show that I like, so I can put them in my VIDEO folder. E.g. say a live song off the MTV awards.

Cheers

I've tried it but it doesn't keep the audio/video synch.

I've had good success with Cuttermaran - you have to demux before using it, tho. I use ReJig for that. Both are freeware. Cuttermaran will say it has issues with video streams I've recorded, but it cuts and remuxes everything fine. Never had sync problems.

I use the nanocosmos mpeg 2 editor, which is very basic, but works extremely well, as there is no conversion or muxing needed.

http://www.nanocosmos.de/frames_multimedia.htm

I've never tried the download from that site, as it came woth my PVR-150, but it should work.

I've used mpg2cut2 to slice commercials out of videos. it is very fast and does not require demuxing or remuxing. See http://www.geocities.com/rocketjet4/

Unfortunately, I cant get the nanocosmos installer to upload, and their site is kinda hard to navigate, so anyone who wants it can contact me at ericjeffers@gmail.com, or PM me

Another Vote for VideoRedo (actually VideoRedo Plus now!). I've never had an issue with audio getting out of sync on it, and I use it quite extensively to edit commercials out of children's programming.

#3) PopCorn Hour.. I'm working on that one.

I recommend VideoReDo, and don't have any sync problems.
