Hi Sub,

Are there any plans to add support for thee Adaptec Videoh! USB card? (2210) It seems like nobody has added support for this capture device. It does a great job with MyDVD, but I would like to use it with other software that I can set a recording time up.

Thanks for your help,
Mike

Unfortunately I dont really have the resources to buy all these cards, so I've only really support the PVR350/250 which I own.

Does this device use hardware encoding to capture to mpeg2? or does it capture to some other file format?

It is a true hardware encoder and records to mpeg2 file. It is like the PVR 250 because it captures the video and the sound. It seems to work well, but the MyDVD software sucks! I have checked many web sites and forums to find other software that will work with this device. I am not sure what chipset this device uses. If you have any ideas how to get this to work, I can do some testing to see if it will work.

Thanks for your help!

If you're up to it, you could try to get it to go. You'd need to add a section to direct.ini for your device, and replace all the names with those appropriate for your device. You'd need to you GraphEdit to find the appropriate filter names and pin names.

Below is the definition for the PVR250/350.

[Hauppauge PVR250/PVR350]
FILTER_CROSSBAR=Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Crossbar
FILTER_CAPTURE=Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture
FILTER_TV_TUNER=Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II TvTuner
FILTER_TV_AUDIO=Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II TvAudio
PIN_CROSSBAR_VIDEO_TUNER_IN=Video Tuner In
PIN_TVTUNER_ANALOG_VIDEO_OUT=Analog Video
PIN_TVTUNER_ANALOG_AUDIO_OUT=Analog Audio
PIN_TVAUDIO_TV_AUDIO_IN=TVAudio In
PIN_TVAUDIO_TV_AUDIO_OUT=TVAudio Out
PIN_CROSSBAR_AUDIO_TUNER_IN=Audio Tuner In
PIN_CROSSBAR_VIDEO_DECODER_OUT=Video Decoder Out
PIN_CAPTURE_ANALOG_VIDEO_IN=Analog Video In
PIN_CROSSBAR_AUDIO_DECODER_OUT=Audio Decoder Out
PIN_CAPTURE_ANALOG_AUDIO_IN=Analog Audio In
PIN_CAPTURE_CAPTURE_OUT=Capture
PIN_WRITER_INPUT_IN=Input

I think I will give it a try! Will this work http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downlo...hedit.html ? Should I just follow the instructions?

Thanks,
Mike

Yes, that copy of graphedit should be fine.

In the GB-PVR I make a graph that look similar to the following
[Image: capture.jpg]

Each of the filters (boxes) are added using the 'Insert Filters' menu option, and then linked up using the pin names. The section of the .ini file I described above shows roughly the names of the filters you're after. Let me know how you get on.

You want to try and produce approximately the same graph, but using the Adaptec filters.

Try adding a section (below) to the direct.ini. Then use the GB-PVR Config app to setup a capture source which uses the DirectRecording plugin. This should now allow you select 'Adaptec VideOh' in the card type dropdown list. No promises that it will work, but its worth a shot.

[Adaptec VideOh]
FILTER_CROSSBAR=Adaptec USB Crossbar
FILTER_CAPTURE=Adaptec USB Capture Device
FILTER_TV_TUNER=Adaptec USB TvTuner
FILTER_TV_AUDIO=Adaptec USB TvAudio
PIN_CROSSBAR_VIDEO_TUNER_IN=Video Tuner In
PIN_TVTUNER_ANALOG_VIDEO_OUT=Analog Video
PIN_TVTUNER_ANALOG_AUDIO_OUT=Analog Audio
PIN_TVAUDIO_TV_AUDIO_IN=TVAudio In
PIN_TVAUDIO_TV_AUDIO_OUT=TVAudio Out
PIN_CROSSBAR_AUDIO_TUNER_IN=Audio Tuner In
PIN_CROSSBAR_VIDEO_DECODER_OUT=Video Decoder Out
PIN_CAPTURE_ANALOG_VIDEO_IN=Analog Video In
PIN_CROSSBAR_AUDIO_DECODER_OUT=Audio Decoder Out
PIN_CAPTURE_ANALOG_AUDIO_IN=Analog Audio In
PIN_CAPTURE_CAPTURE_OUT=Capture
PIN_WRITER_INPUT_IN=Input
