I had the episode and thought I had already archived it and deleted it. I've been keeping all of the Sesame Street episodes with various bands. Can someone point me how ot get it? I was hoping to makea compilation for my daughters 2 year birthday next week.

I have never used bit torrrent...is it time to get it? Is there any security risks with it? Or do I just not enable file sharing of my own files to decrease security risks.

Also, where would i go to find episodes like this?

Thanks for your help/1

I wouldn't know about these things (cough), but apparently a quick search of 'REM+Sesame Street+video" turned up three hits on emule.

Hope this helps.

Has anyone had any bad experiences or heard of bad experiences using emule or bittorrent regarding virus or spyware, adware, etc? I have all of my critical updates and antivirus updates.

Am I just paranoid?

I wouldn't say you are needlessly paranoid since the average emule user isn't very computer savvy. As long as you have taken precautions to protect your system you should be fine.

I don't think you are paranoid - just prudent. Although I'd be more worried about the **AA than spyware or adware, and I'm not advocating this in any way, caveat emptor, etc, etc,...

With that said, I use bittorrent to d/l my wife's soaps from the UK every week and I've never had a problem. A lot of it I think is to do with the nature of the torrent - if you start d/ling just-released movies or music, you are asking for the **AA's servers to spot your IP in the swarm. On the plus side, any torrents that could be polluted by virii, malware, junk data, etc., would die very quickly as people abandoned the tracker. Make sure you run peerguardian or safepeer in conjuction with your bittorrent client. On a scale of 'security' of 1-10, these are probably about a 2 to be honest (you are never anonymous with bitttorrent), but they filter the obvious IPs. Hide in the swarm.

Similar warnings apply to eMule (note, not eDonkey), and again I have never heard of a problem; I would scan everything before running it anyway, as I would with anything d/led. The advantage of emule is it great for finding old, obscure stuff (such as rem and elmo Wink) - the disadvantage is for reaaally obscure stuff it can take a long while to find and d/l (think in terms of weeks; I kid you not).

Neither bittorrent or emule require you to share *your* files (unless you want to of course), but you do share - or upload - the file you are d/ling, if that makes sense.

Anyway, hope this helps, and I'm sure google will turn up plenty of FAQs etc, more than I could type here.

You can get almost anything you want thru newsgroups but you'll need a newsreader.
