Hi,

I've had a problem recording since I added a 2nd tv card, (Nova-T.) The funny thing is that the Nova T works fine and records well, but its the original wintv pvr usb2, which had been previously recording flawlessly, seems to have been effected. It looks like wintv pvr usb2 will record only until the nova t is activated, (by a second scheduled recording or by watching another channel, then it will stop. I've hopefully added the log where a recording was stopped after 5 seconds, as i changed channel.
I'm pretty sure I've just forgot to tick some box somewhere.

Please help.

Thanks
Kenny

I set up another two recordings to illustrate my problem. The first recording started 10 minutes before the second. The first recording stopped after 10 minutes, ( the time of the second) I was watching the first at the time in playback this time. The logs should show this.

I know this combination works as I have both of these cards working in my system. Before you say ah but what nova-t model do you have, I have the old nova-t 909 and the newer 90002 and the usb2 nova-t in there with the pvr usb2.

The logs look like everything is ok. Sorry, I dont know.

Some users with small HTPCs have noticed their power supply has only successully powered one capture device at a time, but these were particularly small power supplies. I dont know if this applies to you or not, but worth mentioning.

yeh, the nova-t usb2 is rated at 500mA which is the max that a usb port can supply. I had to buy a powered usb2 hub (but not a belkin, they cause problems) to stabilise the device.

hi

it’s the newer 90002 nova I have . I pretty sure my power supply is around 400w, but I have a spare one to try.
The thing I do suspect is the "device number" part of the settings. Currently both tv cards are set to number one. I've tried changing them individually to different numbers but the one changed stops working. Do you think this could be the problem?

Thanks

If two cards use the same driver, then one card should be number 1, the other number 2. If they use different drivers, then the cards should both have number 1.
