No Bass

I tried posting this in hardware, but I was hoping to get more exposure in this thread.

I have my GBPVR computer hooked up to run through my reciever to take advantage of the 5.1 surround sound. I have the 5 speakers working perfectly, but I don't have any bass running through at all. I have an older Creative Soundblaster PCI card in my computer and it is hooked up through just an analog connection. I don't have any digital connections available to use. Anyone have any ideas why there isn't any bass? I've tried searching the forums for answers, but I can't find any dealing with analog audio connections just missing bass.

5.1 surround is by definition digital, so at best with an analog input to your receiver you would be able to decode Analog Prologic or Prologic II surround. Prologic II Addresses a lack of Bass in Prologic.
For most program material there is less perceived Bass in Prologic modes than in 5.1 digital mode.
If my assumption about your analog input to your receiver is correct, then my only suggestion to you would be to boost the LFE channel (woofer) db level in your receiver, there should be a setting for it. I boost mine by 5 db when my receiver is in prologic mode and I have a 15" sub.

Try switching the receiver over to stereo, if you hear more bass than when in Prologic mode then you definitely need to boost the db for the woofer in prologic mode.
