Hmmm..Im sure its possible... Xm standalone desktop app Sirius yahoo widgetAnyone who has sirius or xm should know that you can listen to it online . Those apps / widget prove taht its possible to write your own program to do this... This would be an amazing plugin.. I might attempt to do this..Unless anyone else wants to..since i have no knowledge of this Smile

I am very interested in this type of project. I started work on a plugin to control my XM DirectPCR using GBPVR. After fiddling a bit I found it was easiest to just hook the DirectPCR up as a secondary source in my card and then build a simple program that changes the channel. So now when I go to channels above 200 they are my XM audio channels (blank screen). Really crude but it works with my MVP just dandy. I would much rather have a formal plugin to access XM online or through the DirectPCR. I just got lazy/pragmatic.

I'm willing to help but I have yet to do a plug in beyond the "hello world" app.

Plugins are .Net and can be written with VB.Net or C#. I've been playing around with the Sharp Develop IDE for C# but have been too busy with work to spend too much time on this recently. It's still on my radar, however. Read up on Plugin development in the wiki. Lots of resources there.

As it relates to an XMRO plugin I have been unable to authenticate and get a stream using manual log ins. I would like to open the stream with something like VLC which would allow me to save the stream to an MP3 file. The MVP requires an MP3 Stream.

Making a plugin that just plays XM on the PC is damn near trivial (have it fire up WMP and open the channel) and not of much interest to me. I use MVPs on each of my TVs and hardly ever use GBPVR for watching anything on my PC.

yeah this is a great player, it would be nice to use something like this via my MVP some day. Anyone have the skills and Sirius to work on this challenge?

I have Sirius, and I plan on starting to do a plugin for this. I will be finishing up my master's degree this March, so I won't have huge progress until I have some free time to work on it.

Anyone have any ideas on how the UI should look like? I'm throwing around some ideas in my head based on other gbpvr plugins, but nothing definite.

I'll keep the forum posted on what the progress is.

I have a SIRIUS radio setup right beside the HTPC in the living room. It would be nice to have the capability to stream its audio over the internal house network using MVPs.

I have it almost completed using laptops to test before duplicating the setup on my main HTPC. I wanted to check if anyone else has done a similar setup or a better method to do the same.

1. Have the SIRIUS radio audio out connected to the HTPC audio line in.
2. Setup the ShoutCast server & WinAMP with line-in & shoutcast server plugin on the HTPC;
3. Save the HTPC shoutcast server .pls file to the NetRadio directory;
4. Play the shoutcast station over the MVPs.

The next step is to be able to change channels of the SIRIUS radio using the HTPC computer.
This could be done using WinLIRC with appropriate remote .cf file. I tested this and it can be done. The next step would be to have a GBPVR plugin to call WinLIRC and output the correct commands?

Anyone interested in writing such a plug-in? I like hardware but never really like writing software.
