well I look at the zap2it we got now and I'm sort of like saying I got like 6 months of free member ship cool but what after the 6 months the whole point of gbpvr and others is freevo Big Grin if I have to pay for it might as well buy a tivo  (well not really can't get the features of my system with a tivo lol :p ) but non the less xml free listings after zap2it decides to charge for their service (which is bound to happen Sad ) might be a good thing

You can get xmlTV listings now, but it uses Zap2It as a source. So you have to have a Zap2It account to use it. I've been using it for months instead of Zap2Its download, and haven't had the issues that many others have experienced in not obtaining guide updates.

If I were you, I'd just use zap2it. It'll make life easier for you.

If in future they try to start charging for there service, then you can switch to XMLTV at that time. There is no point in doing this now, since the US XMLTV service just uses zap2it anyway. If they start charging, someone will make a XMLTV grabber that rips the listings from some website to give you a free alternative. This alternative grabber doesnt exist today, since there is no need for it.

I dont think zap2it will stop their free service any time soon. Its been available for about two years now.
