IR.exe as a Windows Service?

I know that you can create User-defined services in Windows, has anyone done this w/ ir.exe? Does it work?

I tried using instsrv and srvany, but it kept failing. I haven't had time to troubleshoot. The details are at Microsoft's site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q137890/
