mini-walkthrough style

I developed a VB program that takes jpgs and adds them to a small html/javascript. It has a forward and back, that allows for a viewer to shuttle through a sequence for a walkthough.

Currently I'm hosting a few of these walkthroughs for the wiki from my personal webspace. I'm not currently worried about bandwidth. Maybe when my provider sees my one millionth hit I'll worry.

How do you like the style?

I think it's great.

Just like to say, too zehd, that having had a crack at a few of the FAQs and wiki pages (updating the MVP FAQ, adding the TVWalker FAQ and the 3 Minor Troubleshooting FAQs) your efforts in that regard are simply outstanding in comparison. Keep up the good work!

Actually, Jksmurf, I was going to ask you about config/ChannelMapping...

(I think you edited the last couple of revisions, couldn't tell if you were the originator)

The grid of frequencies is a little wide, and I tried to work with it. What was you source? Maybe I can figure something that works slightly better to my eye...

And because my PVR card is working without frequency adjustment, I actually don't understand it all that well, and there ain't nothing worse than a documenter that doesn't understand his content...

you can skip a step by adding your card,setting up zap2it and remote,then instead of ok hit 'update epg' and it will tell you you have to save it and then it'll save it and do the update immediately afterwards.. Smile

i always do mine that way..works fine..just thought it might be less confusing..
i think we need a "features" walkthrough too :p
[maybe to put on main site..took me a while to realize this softare could do all it can from the sparse descriptions and few pics there..]
maybe even put in a timeout to go to next page automatically? [long tho]

For my sins, yes :o , from EPG FAQs down in that Wiki Page was my crack at it, in http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Confi...elMappings.

I got stuff from here http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/terrestrial/tuning/ for e.g. and the sources listed in the WIKI FAQ. I sort of struggled through it, and I'd be the first to admit I'm not really that au fait with this sort of thing, but it worked for my setup, so I thought "cool". There are RANGES for Video and Audio (bit like 1/3 Octave Bands for Vibrations) and a Centre Frequency. Actually if you use the frequencies that the TV Prog s/w that comes with your Card throws out, you won't go far wrong.

You'll find a spreadsheet I made in this post, with all the sources linked and you might be able to modify it for your needs.

You could do it with image maps as a complement to the buttons on the page. I know, it's just cosmetics (or geekish Big Grin

) but I've been thinking of adding that to the wiki ever since you added the buttons on the config pages, which BTW I think was a great addition.

You know I was thinking about that. I can/could do it, but currently my VB6 isn't installed, and that's what created the program that generates the HTML for those wlakthoughs.

On a side note. I'm thinking of releasing a walkthoughs for building walkthroughs using my system... Interested?
