Hi!

Some channels seem to be recorded without sound.
Any ideas why this might happen?

Live TV always has sound.

This is fairly common with PVR150s. The only solutions seems to be try different drivers until your find one that works reliably for you.

So, I reinstalled all drivers (latest version with the supposed 'no sound' fix), but still no luck.

Strange thing is, if I have no sound, I run wintv2000 for a few seconds and I have sound again.

Could there be a difference in initialising the card between GBPVR and WinTV?

What is your broadcast source? I have this problem with over the air stuff sometimes, and sometimes I don't. I always attributed it to it switching to mono mode even though there is only stereo sound ( or reverse of that ).

Cable, and the image quality is good/excellent.

I now added this to my XP starup, to make wintv record something for a second and then quit:

C:\PROGRA~1\WinTV\WinTV2K.EXE -c41 -nss -nc -ntod -startr -limit:1 -exitr -mute

This fixes the 'no sound' problem for now (fingers crossed).

(Note: Found this 'fix' on another forum, not my idea.)

Hi,

I now use GBRecord to 'fix' my PVR150 sound problem.
Problem for me is, that adding a batchfile running this at system startup sometimes doesn't fix it somehow. Running it manually always works, but I have to remember running it.

Why doesn't starting the gbpvr service solve this? Or starting a recording?

My two 150s have this problem but running a batch file for each to 'gbrecord' for a second always fixes it. These batch files are run from the startup folder.

Do you specify the two devices as different instances?

My batch file command:-
GBRecord.exe -device:"Hauppauge PVR-150" -instance:2 -channel:1 -startr:test.mpg -seconds:1

The other uses 'instance:1'
C2Duo E8400, 4GB, GE8600GT, PCH A-100, HVR2200, NPVR 1.5.31, Win 7 x64.

The batch file is fine, it just doesn't work at system startup.
I know the batchfile runs because I let it log to syslog.

Running it manually always fixes the problem.
