I'm a new user and need some helping getting gb prv set up. I have a FusionHDTV 5 Lite card, and everything works well in the Fusion application. I set up the Fusin card using the "HowTo Configure OTA ATSC HDTV GBPVR - USA" page in the WIKI. My problem occurs when I try to watch TV. When I click on the Live TV button, I get the following error:
Debug Assertation Failed
Program C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\GBPVR.EXE
File: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\Vc7\atlmfc\include\aticomcli.h
Line: 148
Expression: p!=0
I tried reinstalling .NET version 1.1, .NET version 1.1 SP1, and .NET version 2.0, but nothing worked. At one point, GBPVR came up with a window that said something like index array out of bounds. I couldn't get GBPVR to repeat this, as now it shows the Debug Assertation Failed error. Any suggestions?

Can you reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your logs?

Here are my logs (I think, please tell me if these are not the right files).
FYI, if I ignore the error, gb prv then comes back with Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Are you sure the device isnt being used, or held on to, by some other software in the machine?

I stopped stopped the Media Center Receiver Service. This eliminated the error message. But now when I click Live TV, I get a black screen (no video, no sound). If I try to watch a show through the guide, nothing happens; the guide stays up on the screen. Any other suggestions?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your logs and I'll take a look.

I can see what is going wrong, but I dont know why or how you can fix it.

When you connect the tuner to the Microsoft Demulitplexer, it normally creates five pins, with '2' being video and '3' being audio.

Quote:20:37:22.375 VERBOSE Demux filter has the following default output pins:
20:37:22.375 VERBOSE - 1
20:37:22.375 VERBOSE has media type: {455F176C-4B06-47CE-9AEF-8CAEF73DF7B5} {B3C7397C-D303-414D-B33C-4ED2C9D29733}
20:37:22.375 VERBOSE - 2
20:37:22.375 VERBOSE has media type: {455F176C-4B06-47CE-9AEF-8CAEF73DF7B5} {C892E55B-252D-42B5-A316-D997E7A5D995}
20:37:22.375 VERBOSE - 3
20:37:22.375 VERBOSE has media type: {73646976-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71} {E06D8026-DB46-11CF-B4D1-00805F6CBBEA} (VIDEO)
20:37:22.375 VERBOSE - 4
20:37:22.375 VERBOSE has media type: {73647561-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71} {E06D802C-DB46-11CF-B4D1-00805F6CBBEA} (AUDIO)
20:37:22.375 VERBOSE - 5
20:37:22.375 VERBOSE has media type: {455F176C-4B06-47CE-9AEF-8CAEF73DF7B5} {E436EB8E-524F-11CE-9F53-0020AF0BA770}
In your case, '3' is ending up as video, '4' is ending up as audio.

I've added some logic to auto detect the correct pins in the next release, but this wont help you in the short term.

Thanks for the quick reply. Would it help if I tried a different demultiplexer? Any recommendation?

Thought I'd pass on the results of another trial. I just installed nVidia PureVideo. This gets me video on Live TV, regarless if I select the Zulu decoder or the nVidia decoder. I don't have any audio yet, no matter what audio decoder I select. I remeber seeing this discussed in other threads, so I'll do some reading and play around some more tomorrow.

Its probably caused by one of the other Microsoft components (MPEG2 Transport Information Filter creates the pins), but you wont be able to replace that one with anything else.

This because of what I describe above.
