installers?

anyone know of a good free installer that will allow me to do these things

• check the main menu skin.xml to see if xmlnode exists, and if not add it
  
• check if previous files exist and if they do DONT replace them (eg a access database)
  
• allow all configuration of a plugin via the installer and add it to the config.xml file
  
• allow me to include other install packages which will launch and be installed (eg "dbpoweramp")
  
• check an ini for some settings, and if not present add some settings to the file (eg the "irremote.ini" file i want to add another application to it)
  

i dont think i can easily do this with the setup project in vs 2003.

try the nullsoft installer (google it, don't know the adress...) it's free and powerful. i don't know, if it can handle xml-files, but i'm sure, you can start an application after installation, which does the xml-config-thing.
checking for existing files is included (i use this for cdplayer-plugin and there i check for the cddb-database).

thanks dottore, after a few days playing around with it ive managed to get it to do most of what i want (and im sure i could get it to do everything eventually). at first it was a little confusing (expecting a wizard/gui system, not script )

so far editting a ini file, editing the xml, checking the registry for gbpvr install path.

so yeah all is good.
