Well now I don't know what to do....I noticed that the release date of the current 24073 drivers I am using was not listed.....so I jumped over to shspvr and see there are really two drivers.

The one you posted....which they have marked as a W2K distribution....as well as a new 32/64 bit release 240103.

I am nervous that the ones posted here (W2k drivers) do not have the timeline patch.

Thoughts on which I should use?

Are the 24108 drivers really the same as the 24103 but with W2K support?

They do include the timeline patch.

2.0.43.24103 was the previous release.

2.0.42.24108 was made publically available today, and is probably very simliar to the previous release. According to the release notes it'll effectively be the same drivers + Win2K support + DMA improvements.

I'm interested as well but I'm not as trusting as some to switch based on Hauppauge's reputation. I'd appreciate the feedback on if you see a difference with your 500's.

Hauppauge's reputation? Am I missing something? I wish all multimedia vendors kept supporting their hardware so well.

Ok....I've run about a dozen recordings running all 3 tunners at once and have not had a timeline problem. Overall picture quality appears to at least as good as the 24054 drivers if not better.

Edit:

Ok...my wife picked up on something I did not originally see....the recordings seem to be a little off-set...the show logo when displayed via the MVP is now off the screen to the right slightly....looking at recordings made with the 24073 drivers I see a bit of black padding on both the left and right side of the recordings.....with the recordings made with these drivers I am seeing a larger black area to the left and none on the right....which would account for the shift of the video to the right.

I have looked at the videos via VLS and they look fine but you can see the padding difference.....I have included a screen shot of the left padding that I am seeing (which is on the recordings with older drivers as well but is a little smaller and there is a corresponding padding on the right side as well which is not in the recodings made with the 24108.

I am going to load the 24103 drivers and see if it is there (this was pre-W2K support).....

Left padding shot using 24108 drivers....

Ok....update.....

I worked my way backwards.....I went from 24108 to 24103...then to 24073 then to 24054......

What I discovered was that the padding on the left and right varries by channel being recorded and some channel icons that sit in the bottom right of the screen get slightly chopped while others don't.....this occurs through all of these drivers.

What I also discovered is that the recoding quality for both the PVR150 and PVR500 was noticably improved from the 24054 and 24108. Smile

I am back to the 24108 drivers. Big Grin
