You know, those red and white ones to connect my tv card to my tv? in order to get sound? Or will sound come through the s-video?

Thanks

will something like this do? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-5mm-Jack-to-2-Ph...dZViewItem

You might have a few things backwards.

What TV card do you have? The only TV card that would connect to your TV would be a PVR 350. For most TV cards the RCA jacks and S-video are input jacks. Not output jacks. They would be used to connect your TV card to a cable/sat box, VCR, or other video device.

However if you have a non-hardware encoder card you would have a mini-jack connector that needs to go to the input of your sound card.

Your video output, in most cases, comes from your video card. Your audio output, in most cases, comes from your sound card.

Does this help?

Its a PVR150MCE.

Im confused sorry Sad

I meant for the TV which is hooked up to the PC with the TV tuner via S-video from my graphics card. With this there would be no sound coming out of the TV's speakers.

To get sound out from the TV's speakers would i have to get that lead i posted in post#1 and connect them from my TV tuner to the TV itself to get sound from the TV speakers?

Not quite... you would have to connect them from your sound card to your tv set. The capture cards don't have sound-out (with the exception of the pvr-350).

The cable you posted would work fine, by the way, if your tv can take those RCA contacts in =)

It depends on what you're planning to put either end of the lead Wink

Do you have a TV that takes s-video / phono as an AV input?

Just re-read your post-will explain more:

- TV signal goes to the PVR 150.

then inside your pc you have:
- a graphics card with s-video out

- a sound card with a 3.5mm stereo Jack

(note the graphics and sound cards may be 'integreated', in other words built in to the motherboard.)

Then depending on where you live (UK have SCART) and what type of TV you have, you can plug the s-video and phono cables directly in to an AV (audio visual) socket on the TV or through some kind of adpater/converter

Nope, your TV card is input only. As I said above the the RCA jacks are for input from a VCR cable/sat box or other video device.

To get sound on your TV you need to go from your speaker out or aux out on your sound card to your TV input. The cable you posted link looks correct. but it will not connect to your TV card.

The TV card you have has no output's at all.

"ATi Radeon 9200 128MB with S-Video out"

A point just for future reference - s-video is only ever video, ie, carries no audio at all. It gives a better picture because it carries the luma and chroma separately.
