This guide is to walk the end user through the Appearance Manager plugin.

Note: Appearance Manager is often abbreviated AM

First, you need an AM compatible skin. Check here

For this guide I will be using the Chameleon Skin but the concept is the same for others.

Fire up GBPVR and you get your typical Main Menu.

Select the Appearance plugin.
The first button (depending on the AM skin) selects where the backgrounds are located.
For Chameleon the button will read "A Chameleon".
Other skins will list something else, or this button may not exist.
For this guide, I will use the left or right arrow (or remote button) to select MCE2 as my backgrounds.

Now, I will use the down arrow to go to the "MainBackground" button.
Using the left or right arrows, I will select this background.

Now, with MCE2 selected still, I move down to the "Background" button. The Chameleon skin will show a smaller window showing what the plugins will look like.

If you wanted a different style background for plugins, move back up to the top button and use the left or right arrows to select a new option.
Then, go back down to the "Background" button and make your selection.
I still want the MCE2 style backgrounds so I use the left or right arrow to select the same one I did for the main menu.
You could be different and choose something different.
The next button down is for SkinEffects. Press left or right to try these out. These are images drawn over the top of the backgrounds. Some will look odd unless you have chosen a solid color as your background. I chose to keep going until the "Box" on the Main Menu disapeared. That box was a skin effect.

Next are buttons. I pressed the left or right arrows to browse through the options and chose a green MCE2 style.

Next are Panels and Task Images.
These buttons will toggle those on or off by using the arrow keys as well.
I want to keep those so I will move on.
Languages, the arrow keys again will show you the options availible.
I will make no changes here as well.
All that is left is to save my changes, and AM will reload GBPVR with the new changes.

There we go, a whole new look. Not all AM skins have the same level of options for changing them, but you can mix and match backgrounds and buttons, ect. from them to try them out. You can even try out backgrounds from non AM skins.

To learn more about how to skin for AM or add images to an exsisting AM skin, view this thread.
