Hi
I was wondering if anybody had any news on the MVP software client that was being developed. This is something I would REALLY want to use if it were ready, but it seems to have stalled when it was getting realy close.

I have looked back through the thread and got lost trying to follow where its at. Can someone give a summary, is it OK to try, and what is still to fix and what versions of what components are needed to run it.

Thanks

The link is here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=14816&

Actually, I may be one of the last guys still using vb6

I was planning on at least looking at the code and seeing whether it's something I wanted to tackle...

No promises...

That's a shame. Understandable, but a shame none the less. This application has great potential for usefullness in a home theater system.

What I have discovered is that setting up GB-PVR on a client computer and following the instructions from the wiki works really very well.

There's two different explanations, and I'm thinking of merging and clarifying the information (good thing I'm a network tech or I might have gotten lost)

As far as the VB6 program, I'm not that good a programmer. To even start to make sense of where this original VB6 programmer was going, when I barely understand how it should work anyway, is beyond me.

It might not be worth it (VB6 Client) consdering how well the client/server option works...
