I would love an option that would allow you to go to a single recordings and "flag" it to be transcoded overnight, or soemthing to that effect. I do not like all my recordings transcoded, but sometimes I will record like a 3 hour sports game that I want to keep for a while, but it would be nice to be able to simply go to it in the "recordings" menu and select it to transcode so that I can keep it on my gbpvr for a longer time while taking up less space. Anyone else like this idea?

Yeh, I always transcode the shows that I record for the kids - they'll watch them over and over and I don't want to eat up disk space storing them. I'd love a feature like this!

There is a Transcode in the Video Library plugin. I've never tried it but you might want to give it a go.

Cheers,

That is for video's that are not recorded by gbpvr.......as far as my understanding goes. Sub, any possibility or plugin for this?

I do hope to do something like this in the future, but I dont know when.

You can use the transcode feature of the video library to manually convert recordings for now.

Just enter your recordings-dir into the list of dirs for the video-library in config-directories.

It hadn't occured to me that people don't have things setup this way. I think when I setup GB-PVR for the very first time (way back), I didn't know what else to put in for the path in Video Library setup so I just put the recordings folder path in there. I just thought everybody would have it like that.

Nope, I have a completely different folder to where I (manually) move shows that I want to keep (mostly kids shows, as it has become... Big Grin )
