After recording a few shows (2 30 minutes), my CPU peggs to 100%. This is a brand new box, XP Pro SP2 and latest patches, .net2.0, GBPVR, that's all I'v installed, its a raw box, brand new on hardware that I know is good:

1 GB DDR 333, AMD Semphron 2800+, on a ASUS motherboard (Vintage AE-1 barebones).

I did a basic install of GBPVR and the box is otherwise unused at recording time. The CPU stays at 100% even after recording is done, I reformatted and reinstalled XP, .net, and GBPVR in case something had screwed up in the install, but that didn't help.

I do have comskip, but that dosen't seem to be in the process tree, just GBPVRrecordingservice, gbpvr, and gbpvrtray.

Any suggestions?

Which process is using all the CPU?

comskip would use all the CPU. Are you sure its not comskip?

What are you using to determine running processes?

I'd highly recommend Process Explorer:
http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Pr...lorer.html
Dedicated HTPC: MSI K7N420 Pro, AMD 2200+, 1.5GB RAM, PVR150, 550Pro, ATI 9800XT, 300GB Maxtor HD, Diamond XTreme DDL Sound, MVP over wireless bridge, GBPVR 1.2.13

Is the PC unresponsive or just pegged? comskip will make your CPU hit 100%, but it does so at a low priority and yields the CPU on request. The PC should still run other apps ok as long as you have enough free memory, and 1 GB is certainly enough.

Mhm..., have you installed the latest Driver for your SiS Chipset? And your OnBoard Graphics: SiS 760GX ?

SiS based Systems are SOMETIMES(!) really curious... ^^;

it is gbpvrrecordingservice, followed closley by gbpvr.exe, then gbpvrtray.exe

I am using windows task manager.

I initially thought comskip, too, so I took it out of the gbpvr folder, and turned off processing.

Yes, I have the latest driver pack from Asus.

I'll try and replicate the problem and send logs.

Nothing else is using any significant memory or processor. It seems that even after GBPVR is done recording, it hangs at 99% CPU use.

Can you post a screenshot of a graph from perfmon that shows these three processes?

If its happening after a recording, it really does sound like comskip. Have you tried temporarily removing comskip.exe?

After I did this, I noticed that I did have comskip configured to run  But, hours later, the processor is still at 99%, and GBPVR recording service seems to be using a lot of RAM (Though, I have a Gig). Attached are screenshots and logs. When GBPVR launches comskip, it launches it as a seperate app, right? So I'd see comskip.exe listed separatley in the task manager.

Thanks,

Mhm, it looks like somethings happen @ comskip. Wrong/Old version? Not right configured? Video-Material to bad?
