Again, install goes nicely. Might be worth offering the option to start the configuration section or even automatically start the config application.

Currently when I go into the Video area, select the directory i want, choose the mpg file, i get an error saying class not registered. The debug box coming up says something about not finding an object instance: DirectShowHelper.playfile(). This is the abbreviated version. I'm guessing I am missing something i should have installed?

The TV guide is sweet now that i have fixed up xmltv output. What would be nice is buttons like titantv to jump forward/backwards n hours; to go to the next day, etc.

Will try the scheduling programs section tomorrow.

I've emailed you a VMR9 playback utility from the DirectX9 SDK. Can you please try running an MPG file with it, and let me know what happens. Maybe also try taking screenshots (press alt-PrintScreen, then paste into mspaint) of any error messages you receive, an email them back to me.

You dont a have the 'Use PVR350 Playback' selected do you? To have this option turned on, you've got to have PVR350 otherwise it does crash at the moment.

I tried the exe and when opening a mpg it complains that

I don't have any other application (audio) running. Well the only thing I have running is Total Recorder but that should not prevent access to any of the sound devices.

I checked that the hardware acceleration was enabled for the VMR but maybe it is something to do with my machine. The graphics card is on-board S3. So its probably more a Directx thing (i'm running the latest directx of microsoft.com).

Yes, it look like your video drivers dont like VMR9.

I had thought VMR9 support would be pretty standard if you had DirectX9 installed. I might have to have think about also providing a playback soltuion that doesn't rely on VMR.

It sounds like me and colin have the same graphic chip. Maybe an easy solution would be to launch the video in windows media player in full screen mode? This should work good since the Hauppage remote is already setup to work with media player.

The effects the recordings module to BTW when attempting playback (obviously).

I'll see if there is any driver updates for the graphics chip and see if that makes any difference. Depending on how VMR works this may require driver updates,

Colin, I did have a similar problem on my PC at work when I tried it there. An updated driver to fix the problem for me there. That wasn't an S3 chipset though.

I'll have a go at including non VMR playback in the next release, but you might end up with out the cool semi-transparent OSD during playback. If you want to see some screen shots have a look at http://www.gbpvr.com/preview.html

Whilst messing with the settings of the video adaptor it says about not supoprting YUV at the current resolution/memory and RBG is not supported.

So i would guess this is the problem for VMR. I have downloaded the new drivers for this adaptor so i'll see if the new drivers fix anything.

ok, one quick trip to the via website, new s3 drivers installed and video playback in bg-pvr works a treat.

I don't think we have the same chip then

Mine is the intergated video on my sis730S chipset motherboard. I too downloaded the updated drivers, and SIS's little display utility and can't get anywhere with it.

I think I'm just going to break down and buy a new video card. Was trying to put it off until I built my HTPC
