Is there someone here that is in the US, has a confirmed paypal address, and could help me out with a purchase?

I've got a US$230 item I'd like to buy off ebay, but the seller will only send to a 'confirmed' address. Unfortunately you have to be in the US to a confirmed address status on your paypal account.

I'm happy to paypal the full cost in advance - so that you can buy the item, have it shipped to yourself, then send it off to me in New Zealand.

If you can help out, please PM me. For peace of mind, I'd prefer one of the "regulars" on the GB-PVR forums.

I don't know about the US residency requirement, but being verified means that you have given PayPal a bank account number which they have confirmed.

I've given PayPay a credit card number. I have not given them a bank account number.

So, even though I live in the US, I can't help.

No no, a confirmed paypal account simply means that the shipping adress matches the billing address on your paypal acount. This confirmation is only valid in the US. It's to prevent people from stealing a users' password and then using to buy lots o' items off the interlands and get them shipped elsewhere (like the criminals house). Verification is completely different.

And, I'd offer to help, but I'm sure youve already gotten a bunch of PM's offering already.

Yep - Paypal account status of "verified account" and "confirmed address" are used for quite different things.

Thanks ejeffers. No PMs so far, so I'll PM you the details of what I'm after.

Here in the UK at least you can also get your address verified. Not sure how it is now, but a few months ago there was no obvious way to do this - I had to call them to arrange it.
