MSI K8NGM2-FID and PVR 350

I know of the saga of the PVR 350 and I too have one. I will soon be buying parts for a pvr and I plan to use an MSI K8NGM2-FID motherboard (A64 939 GeForce 6150) and my capture card will be a PVR 350. Ive heard the success rate for using the hardware decoder is near 50/50 depending on components so I was hoping someone out there has tried this same combination. Any success? If not, does deactivating the hardware decoder eliminate all issues? I can still use the tv out of the 6150 if necessary I believe.

I have that motherboard, and the 6150, along with my athlon64 3000 is more than capable of decoding MPEG-2. In fact i have a 1080 panel and it scales stuff up to that flawlessly. DVD's look fantastic. I use the nvidia purevideo decoder, bronze edition as i only needed digital audio pass-through

Is that what you wanted to know?

Only thing i can't quite get to play back smoothly is hi-def content.
