One of the big problems I run into is having my video drives fragmented whenever two programs are being recorded simultaneously.

Because the drives (and the files) are so big, defragging takes a really long time.

Have you considered adding the ability to specify a recording drive/directory for *each* tuner?

Sorry, I probably wont be doing this. Whilst it sounds like a viable performance tweak, the idea in general is pretty yuck. I prefer the current scheme of recording to a single recordings directory.

Okay.

What about the ability to specify multiple recording directories?

For instance, my M: partition has about 30GB of space and my P: partition (on a separate physical drive) has about 30GB free too.

Having to choose *just* one or the other as my recording directory means that my recording capacity is only 1/2 of what it could be. (Especially since it isn't trivial for a new user to move a recording to another drive and still have it available in the play list).

???

I have considered doing this, and probably will some time in the future, as some sort automated over flow to alternate drive when it looks like the first one doesnt have enough available space to do the recording.

The reality is that hard drive space is pretty cheap these days, so I've not really found myself needing this, and I havnt given its implementation a very high priority.

The archive utility included in the video archive plug-in can be configured to archive things for you that are more than X days old and will update the gblvr database with the new location so that it will still show up in the built-in recordings plug-in. Yoc can run it daily from the postepgupdate.bat file.
