Ok, so I've run a search a couple times for this question but I never quite got the answer I was needing... So I thought I ought to ask the question I have.

Will the Nvidia DualTV EVER be supported by GBPVR?

I have been entranced by the reviews and quallity comparisons, and would really like to be able to use it. Sure, BTV and Sage support it, but I have a feeling I might get sick of those...

I wish I were able to sit down and go for a hauppauge 500 but the gamer/elitist in me says to never buy a card that is worse than the best, and in the same price range.

Any suggestions?

Basically, I dont have one of these devices so I cant add support for it.

If someone one wants to donate one to the project, then I'm happy to look into it.

I am about to buy a Philips media center which only comes with the Nvidia DualTV, so I hope it can be supported. I will have a look to see if I can chip in for a card for you, sub. It does seem tricky to buy the PAL version separately though - I have not found any online store that carries it.

If yourself and a couple of other users want to chip in and buy one for me, then I'm happy to add support for it.

Hey Sub, have you tried to contact Nvidia relations? I bet they would send you a card as having it supported would = more sales for them.

For what it's worth, I sent this message to Nvidia support:

Quote:In your FAQ Answer ID 1191, you state that DualTV can be used with Yahoo! Go for TV, Snapstream and ORB Media. I know that it is also supported by Sage TV.

One PVR application that is widely used globally is GBPVR (http://www.gbpvr.com). However, the developer (resident in New Zealand) does not have access to a DualTV card, and therefore has not been able to add suppport for it. Can you help him get a card to New Zealand?

Reference: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post127791

It seems they treat Sage well, so I guess they are interested in third-party support:

Overall the people using it with Sage seem very happy, except for problems using more than one card (ie more than two tuners). A number of them have been replacing their PVR-500s.

Cheers. I've fired off a couple more messages to nvidia. Hopefully at least one of them will make it to an appropriate person at nvidia.

Don't forget to try public relations people. They often try to get products into hands of those who can give them positive publicity on their products.

Grr, just made me think of something.

I'm a committee member of the San Diego International Game Developers Association, and have had a similar experience. ATI goes out of their way to support our chapter, but Nvidia doesn't even respond. It's a shame. If I had a good contact, I'd try to help.
