Editing Irremote.ini

I'm not sure if this falls under the "Support" section cuz I think I read somewhere that editing irremote.ini is not supported by the devs, but here it is anyway.

After 3 hours I finally managed to get my power button to work. (I'm using the Hauppauge 40something buttons). But now I want to have it quit GBPVR while pressing it.

So I went to [GB-PVR] and changed the default value of POWER={f12} to POWER={alt}{f4} and it did not work. I also tried POWER={alt}f4.

Is it something else? Is there a way or it just wont work?

did you restart the IR program after the change??? If you are using "direct access to hauppauge remote" You may have to restart the recording service to enable the new settings.

Well, I found out that f12 was associated with a plugin. I installed "Shut Down 2.6", edited config.xml to include <DefaultPluginPower>Shut Down</DefaultPluginPower>, and added GRNPOWER={f12} at the end of [GB-PVR] section.
Now it works.. well partially. From LIVETV mode I have to hit "back/exit" (Hauppauge 45btns remote) then I hit power and access the "Shut Down" addon menu.
I'm wondering is there is a way to 1 - From any mode, hitting "Power" to exit (like keypress alt+f4) gbpvr and 2 - if 1 is not possible, not having to hit "back/exit" once before being able to access the "shut down" menu.

you could try this

GRNPOWER={close(gbpvr.exe)}

(from memory) it closes gbpvr from any screen.

The "close" and "run" are internal for IrRemote. The PsKill is from http://www.sysinternals.com just in case the "close" didn't work.
