Adaptec & Audio

I'm a newbie to GB-PVR and the Hauppauge MVP world. I can't seem to get live TV to produce Audio when it's being encoded by my Adaptec device. It plays MP3s just fine.
Any thoughts or advice?

I seem to remember the MPEG files produced by the Adaptec device does not use the standard MPEG1 Layer 2 audio. Instead I think it uses LPCM, which the MVP is unable to play.
I could be wrong, but I'm sure remember an adaptec user going through this here a long time ago.
