I recently switched to use time shifting mode at all times.. I have a settop box so its no real difference in time and speed.

Having said that...there seems to be a few bugs.

1. When turning channels, it enables time shifting mode, then turns the channel. It should do this the other way around. So that by the time the channel has turned time shifting has been enabled. Right now it enables time shift, turns channel. Wasting about 2-3 seconds.

2. When it switches over to a new time block/new show. It hiccups and occasionally locks up.

3. When left paused on a show for a period of approx. 45 minutes.. It takes almost 20 seconds for it to resume playing.

4. I'd like it so that when i pause. there is no OSD. Alot of times i pause to try to read something or catch some small detail. And the OSD gets in the way. Blue button, or any button will not remove OSD.

thanks, zach

This is my preferred order. A long time ago it used to do what you suggest but it turns out much slower.

It takes 2-3 seconds for enough video to be buffered to disk for playback to begin. It takes up to a 1.5 seconds to use an IR Blaster to transmit the a channel change. With the way it is currently done, that 1.5 seconds occurs within that 2-3 seconds of buffering, in effect not slowing down the time until video starts. If I did the IR Blast before starting then it would add an additional 1.5 seconds to the startup time.

Try increasing the live tv pre-play delay.

This is most likely caused by either a video decoder or the speed of your machine.
