This utility works great for me but I am still on MS Access.
Does it work (auto import) with SQLite?

Which database are you using - have you changed since the import utility last worked?
Core2-E2180, 1G RAM, 1Gb-5450 Silent, 2Tb +300g HDDs.
Three tuners: [SIZE=2][SIZE=1]Twinhan DVB-T x 1, Hauppauge Nova 500T (dual)
[/SIZE][/SIZE]
DTB Digital SD + HD content (PAL-MPEG2-AC3).
Custom case made very quiet. Zalman CPU cooler.
Sits in rack with other HiFi.

ParaLED to show tuner activity.

Running 97.9 didn't change to sql. The only thing I did was delete the previously imported mpeg's, using GBPVR recordings "delete".

When you import it manually from "config-plugins-import recordings" it works, well .......for me it does.

could it possibly be the use of the character #?
or have you had those before in the titles/subtitles?
[may be an escape char for sqlite or gbpvr]

I had to do the same.

I got this error (below) when I pressed the IMPORT button in this util. "GO" worked fine, it found and created the xml and I can use GBPVR config to import the recording-dump.xml, but I couldn;t use MPEGImport. Odd.

Funny thing is even when I tried a different file to the default and stopped GBPVR (and closed it) the MPEGImport error persisted.

Just got an email on this - i don't usually monitor the forums!

This :-

Quote:System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file 'C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\recording-dump.xml' because it is being used by another
process.

Tells me that some other process, possibly GBPVR itself, has a lock on the file.

The way the 'Import' button works is it just makes a backup of the gbpvr recording-dump.xml file, then copies whatever file was generated over the top of it, run 'gbpvr -import' and then restore the original import file from the backup.

Quote:Funny thing is even when I tried a different file to the default and stopped GBPVR (and closed it) the MPEGImport error persisted.

Sometimes windows leaves locks hanging around on files, never figured out why or how to clear them out.

For any coders out there, here is the code in question :-

Code:
private void RunImport()
        {
            string path = Importer.GBPVRInstallPath;

            string gbpvrExePath = path + "gbpvr.exe";
            if (!File.Exists(gbpvrExePath))
            {
                MessageBox.Show(string.Format("Cannot find GBPVR program ( {0} )", gbpvrExePath), "Error", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Error);
            }
            else
            {
                string xmlFilename = path + "recording-dump.xml";
                string tempFilename = string.Empty;
                string outputFilename = this.filename.Text;

                if (!outputFilename.EndsWith(".xml"))
                    outputFilename += ".xml";

                if (File.Exists(xmlFilename))
                {
                    tempFilename = Path.GetTempFileName();
                    File.Copy(xmlFilename, tempFilename, true);
                }

                File.Copy(outputFilename, xmlFilename, true);

                ProcessStartInfo psi = new ProcessStartInfo(gbpvrExePath, "-import");
                psi.WindowStyle = ProcessWindowStyle.Minimized;

                Process gbpvrProcess = Process.Start(psi);
                gbpvrProcess.WaitForExit();

                File.Delete(xmlFilename);

                if (tempFilename.Length > 0)
                {
                    File.Move(tempFilename, xmlFilename);
                }

                MessageBox.Show("GBPVR import completed", "Operation Complete", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Information);
            }
        }

Don't know what happened to the indenting, but it's okay in the actual code i have!

All this works fine for me, but then i'm on 96.12. (I like to let things settle down before i upgrade, and i have to pick my moments as my GBPVR box is heavily used.)

It's possible that GBPVR in a later version than i have is holding on to the file, or opening it differently. I don't know to be honest.

Hope that helps a bit. There isn't much i can do really. Unless someone can see something wrong with my code, or suggest some way to unlock the file. Or, for sub to allow the filename being imported to be specified on the command line when calling 'gbpvr -import'.

Regards.

have you tried to close gbpvr and stop the recording service.. then import?
(maybe make sure the taskmon shows no gbpvr.exe's running (like on MVP's))

I have noted that the the file stays locked for a bit when first starting a gbpvr session... depending on number of recordings..

Just a thought...
