I just put in a PVR500 card with dual analog tuners on it. All drivers etc went smoothly. Just wondering if I have my setup right. The "capture card type" in the direct recording configuration" has two boards detected in it "Hauppauge PVR500" and "Hauppauge PVR500 with FM".

In config I have defined two capture sources. One says:
Capture card type: "Hauppauge 500"
Board number: "capture device #1"
Source: "internal tuner"

The next capture source has pretty much the same, but with
Capture card type: "Hauppauge 500 with FM"
Board number: "capture device #2"
Source: "internal tuner"

This seems right, according to this wiki page.

I guessed about the board numbers - seems to work though.

One final question: the PVR500 doesn't have any remote capability. This isn't a problem because I used to have a PVR150 which had the remote. If I just pop it back in there (don't really want to use the tuner at all on it) just for the remove, GBPVR isn't going to get antsy about it unless I set up another capture source for it, is it? Is that what the "board number" thing is for?

Nope all should work fine, but if you are putting the pvr150 for the remote you might as well add the tuner to gbpvr and have 3 tuners as it's always possible you need it.

hmm, i've hardly ever wanted to watch tv AND record two different channels at the same time. Plud I'd need yet another antenna splitter cable..

Oops - spoke too soon. When one station is recording, trying to watch another station just shows static. Both playback devices are configured exactly the same (beside the board number, device), and point to the same xmltv file. What could be going on?

If you're seeing static, then it sounds like the channel number is wrong for one of the channels.

I did have the right numbers. But I fixed it by removing all the recording configurations, and then closing the config and opening and setting everything back up again. Worked fine second setup around.
