I use Xrecord because (for me) it is nice and simple and almost feels like it is part of the base program. My system (PC, not my own ) can't take too many bells and whistles.
I use Xrecord's Archive utility a fair bit now and there's a couple of things I'd really like to see implemented on the Archiving front, if it is possible with not to much hassle?
1. Batch Archiving: i.e. Archives a batch of recordings, which Xrecord (already) recognizes as being from a single Group (by the count). Rather than choosing each one, and archiving separately and waiting for a while for each to finish, would it be possible to Batch Archive the lot at once?
2. Scheduled Archiving: I tried the OnArchive.bat batch file that was added many moons ago (added a call to comclean, so that the files were com-cleaned using the existing comskip files before archiving. However this invariably rebooted my MVP, when I use the MVP to issue an archive command. Probably not enough grunt in my PC. So it got me thinking about an Xrecord Archive option where you can choose to perform your (queued batch) archiving after you exit GBPVR or between a certain time period 1am to 4am e.g. or after it has been inactive for X hours?
3. Archiving Status: I am never sure (apart from my thrashing Hard Disk light, and of course when the recording disappears from the main menu) whether the file is actually archiving and how long it has left to go.
Cheers and thanks,
k.
