I love Gb-PVR for its functionality and ease of use. It always bugs me however to use its reocurring recordings because no matter what I always end up with a bunch of re runs.

It would be awesome if there was the option "Season Ticket- First runs/New episodes on this channel only" for recording.

It depends were you are in the world. For the majority of world, the TV listings dont contain any information about whether a show is a first run or new episode.

If you're in the US, and using zap2it, you can select the 'dont record duplicates' option which may partially give you what you're looking for.

The only way this could be handled for people that aren't Zap2It users, is to store each and every show that was recorded, including the Name, Sub Title, and Description, and then compare these. RecTracker does this but not sure if it is updated to the .97x releases.

I dont that would even been good enough. For much of the world the quality of the listings vary from channel to channel, and lot of those channels just use generic descriptions for shows, and no subtitle.

Correct, it all depends on the quality of the listing. For those that do have good listing information that provides this detail it would work well, for those that even have a fairly decent source it would work.

Make it an option and leave it to the user to decide whether their guide source is good enough to handle the option.
