I did do a search, but everything I could find worth anything were about the MCE remote.

I have the hauppauge remote where the sensor (and transmitter) plug into the PVR150 card.

I am trying to bypass my problems with bad sound only on 2 channels by getting those channels to pass through my VCR that I set up earlier so I could watch tapes through GBPVR.

first things first--

how can I get the IR blaster to work??
I tried HIP, but all instructions I could find were again for the MCE remote.
hopefully after I figure this out I can the it to learn the remote codes.

is it possible or do I just need to buy an MCE remote??

You need to have installed and configured the Hauppauge BlastCfg app, then configure your capture source to use the '.exe channel changer' and point it at c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\HaupBlast.exe

okay, thanks.

I was fighting with haupblast earlier, but gave up because it was being difficult.

every time I try to get it to learn a button, it says "ERROR: LearnKey(77) returned 1"

the number in the perenthesis is different for each button I try

Sorry, I'm a bit confused. Are you talking about the Hauppauge BlastCfg app?

HaupBlast was written by me, and is just a tiny utility, with no user interface, which asks the Hauppauge BlastCfg app to send a specific channel number.

You dont learnkeys or anything in GB-PVR. When I last tried it, BlastCfg just allowed you to pick your set top box from a list, it didnt allow you to learn keys, but maybe thats changed, and thats what you're talking about?

sorry, yes, it is blastcfg

there is a "beta" version on the website that is dated february of 2005.
it has an advanced button that shows more options and a "learning" button.

I did try the other version first.
my VCR is a hitachi and none of the "cable box" codes work for it.

You might have to ask Hauppauge support about problems with BlastCfg. I dont really know much about it or how it works.

I will do that.
for now I will just put the VCR on the channel I miss the most, and just have it do that one.

thanks for the help.

I've not tried this, but I have read in other threads (here and other places) that there is a irremote.ini file that can be edited (via any text editor) to control any application you want. People have found all kinds of sweet tricks to do with their Hauppauge remote. Just google for "PVR 150 irremote.ini" (or some combination thereof).

His problem is not with the remote, but the IR Blaster.
