I'm running gbpvr to control Bell ExpressVu satellite reciever. IR blaster is working fine. Sometimes my stb does not get the satellite signal and give me a "Channel acquisition in progress" prompt. Only way to get off this prompt is to press the recall or channel up/down button on the stb remote. If this happens with gbpvr controlling pvr150 ir blaster, I have to run down downstairs and press ch_up on stb remote. My question is,

Q) Is there a way to send recall/channel_up/channel_down command through Haupblast.exe at the promt?

I know pvr-150 supports it, becasue when I was running MythTV, I was able to manualy send the command from the prompt.

And BTW it's really great project.

HaupBlast.exe is just a tiny utility that tells the Hauppauge software to send a specific channel number. The Hauppauge BlastCfg app determines which IR signals are sent, and whether it sends 'enter', and any delays or timing info.

GB-PVR's HaupBlast has no real control over the process. The only things you can tweak are those settings that Hauppauge make available in this BlastCfg app.

Thanks for quick answer.
I know HaupBlast uses Hauppauge driver to send the command. I believe it uses the hwcblast.ocx
Do you know if the same method could be used to send other supported ir commands? Does Hauppauge have some documentation/sdk about this?

No it cant. My HaupBlast software literally only passes a channel number to the Hauppauge interface. The details of what it IR signals it sends behind the scenes are hidden inside the Hauppauge software, and configured via the BlastCfg app.

Not that I know of.

Its possible HIP or Girder will give you more control over these aspects than you get using my HaupBlast utility.

No, its not possible. As I said above, all haupblast.exe passes to the Hauppauge software is the channel number. The Hauppauge BlastCfg would need to be capable of configuring this 'power on' you want, so you'd need to talk to Hauppauge about this.

Is their a way to spawn HaupBlast with a process priority of High or Realtime? Under heavy load, one digit can go missing sometimes so I get channel 50 instead of 520. I've changed the delay settings in BlastCfg and set priority of IR.exe to Realtime to no avail.

I'll give it an 'AboveNormal' priority in the next release. I'm not keen on 'High' or 'RealTime' since they can cause serious problems if something goes wrong.

Normally "power on" is the same as "power off" (the same button) - So if the box was already on, it would be switched off Sad
