I'm not sure if this is the place to post it, but I was recommending gbpvr to a friend and he downlaoded the software and started it up and in the "start config"
There's a link that says that they can visit the forum. It's a deadlink at
http://gbpvr.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi instead of pointing to
http://forums.gbpvr.com/

Where is that link in the config app? I cant see it.

Are you talking about the current software (v0.98)? The forums used to be at that address, but that was a very long time ago. The config app was updated at the time to change the URL.

Where abouts exactly? The 'general' tab of the config app has a link to http://forums.gbpvr.com.

Ah, I see - I'd updated the text on the screen, but not the link it took you to. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this in the last year or so.

I've fixed it for the next build.

what at least happened with my friend was that he clicked on it and once it was a dead link it took off everything past the dot com and then navigated to the forum. I'm sure that's what most people did, so it's probably why nobody bought it up before.

Isn't ther a config format for the server that when somebody hits a deadlink it automatically redirects them at least to the homepage such that say for instance you clicked on that link and it was dead it would popup and tell the user and then redirect or have a link to go the main webapge? It's the way I had my site setup years ago. I'm just wondering that if I didn't know any better and tried some new software and the link was dead I might think that the software is no longer supported. Then again the person would have had to downlaod it from the mainpage, so I would think

Yeah, probably. I'm not that concerned about this though.

I'll fix the link for the next release and that'll be good enough.
