Not sure if I'm correct but on some channels on the top couple of lines there seems to be some kind of interference. Is this teletext or some other kind of information sent over the DVB stream? If so any plans for a crop setting to rermove this?

Thanks

Yes. Its quite often because they've taken an analog source channel that had this VBI/CC/Teletext info present, and put it through an MPEG2 encoder to transmit as part of the DVB stream.

No. GB-PVR records the original digital stream as transmitted by the broadcaster. Removing these lines from the video would require decoding every frame from the MPEG stream, cropping the frame, the reencoding a new MPEG2 stream from those frames. This would require a huge amount of CPU processing time, effective re-encoding the entire video, and would reduce the quaility of the end result.

Most people have their machine setup to produce some level of overscanning so that it would not be visible on the screen, much like when you use a set top box.

You can fiddle some with the overscan (or is it underscan, can't remember?) in config.xml. Or with the aspect ratios... you might be able to get a decent result if you can't get the overscan on the video card to work ok.
I'm not always right

Sorry, there isnt much you can do about that if you're viewing 16:9 on a 4:3 telly.

You can use ffdshow during post-processing to crop off the top 4 row of pixels if you have the processing power.
