Hi all,

Since this is my first post, I would first like to thank the gbpvr community for the great work!

I am trying to use a small remote (few buttons, no numbers) to control gbpvr and I would be much easier if there was a way to implement the skip the way it is done in mediaportal: hit skip once and wait, it skips 10 secs, hit skip twice (in rapid succession) wait and it skips 1 min, 3 times 5 mins, etc. On the osd it should show after each hit how much it intends to skip forward, unless you hit skip again.

Is there a plugin or a configuration option that accomplishes that?

You can configure how much to skip in the 'Playback' tab of config

So you could set this to say 15 secs then press 4 times to skip a minute etc... - I realise it's not quite what you're asking for though...

i think the way sub has skipping forward and back is good - i find it easier and quicker to navigate then the way medialportal was setup - this was just one of the reasons i moved from mediaportal to GBPVR.

Yes, that's just the usual way of using the skip button Wink Just to clarify, I have no special attachment to the 15secs, 1 min, 3 mins, etc sequence. In fact, I'd like it to be configurable. Thanks anyway Smile

Also when you press e.g. 4 and then skip it will skip 4 mins.

Yes, I like that, but as I was saying, I am trying to use a remote that has no numbers on it (btw, it's my SonyEricsson W300i via bluetooth) and so if I have to skip 30 mins into the show I will have to press skip 30 times.

In the Sony software (I cant remeber, havent used the phone to control the PC for a while) does it allow you to set a button to act as 2 button presses?

I was thinking using the normal skip, but have one button set to something like 10 or 15 minutes. Then if you want to skip large amounts you can use that button to considerably reduce the amount of times you need to press.

I know you lose one of your limited buttons, but it might be better for skipping to the middle of the file as you asked.

I just checked and I could not find a way. It's not written anywhere that it cannot be done, but I don't see how. Good idea anyway. Another thing I could do is switch the remote configuration on the fly to reactivate the numbers, but I guess it's easier to change my habits Wink
