Is it possible to have an option to send recordings to the recycle bin (if it's big enough?).

My girlfriend accidentally deleted a recording she wanted to watch, oops!

- Removed feature that deletes files via the recycle bin. It seems to cause a problem for some users, and I cant be bothered looking into it.

Check in the Config App that you have the option checked to 'confirm on delete' (or something like that). It'll ask you if you're sure you want to delete it.

Sub, side note, but along the same lines as the confirmation for delete, can one be added for pending recordings? Many many times I've accidently hit "cancel" while viewing pending recordings that were actually currently recording. It's basically like deleting a recording, so it would be nice to have a confirmation on that if it isn't too much work for you.

Thanks

I agree with this, I made this error a lot, I think because the cancel button looks the same as the cancel button in other windows-appl. In other appl. when you hit cancel you leave the current menu and go back, nothing happens or changes. In the gbpvr-recording-menu when you hit cancel............. well you know what happens.

I'm checking out a program from Sysinternals called Fundelete ( http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Fundelete.html ) that should provide the functionality you want. It enhances the windows recycle bin to catch any file deleted. It seems like it's catching everything for me, including log files that get overwritten and stuff.

Sysinternals is great. There may be a size limit on fundelete, cant remember. There are many progs out there for this sort of thing. Files are really only deleted when a new file needs the space they still occupy on your drive. Only the pointer (shortcut) to the file is really removed when you delete something. The file remains until you need the space.

Just one proviso though. A deleted file doesn't remain until you truly need the space. That is, the OS doesn't go out of its way to avoid recently deleted files (unless they are in the recycle bin, in which case they haven't even been deallocated, never mind overwritten). So whilst it is true that your file is not gone immediately, it can be effectively destroyed quite quickly if a new file happens to be allocated just one of the blocks of the deleted file.

This is why fundelete is useful.
