Ok so I've jsut started using this cool program on my second HTPC in my room, and while it's working fine I've become a little frustrated with playing music. All I'm looking for is a simple interface that I can use to play music from the computer to the receiver. Most importantly thoguh I need a playlist function so I can hunt through my music directories and choose songs to add to the list. I've looked at a few of the plug-ins but they all do far more than I need & complicate things to the point where I lose the basic functionality. Here's the exact situation:

- I don't have a capture card in this machine so it's only going to be used for playing music & video from my media server.

- There's also no remote so I'm using a wireless keyboard which works great from across the room. I can't justify having 30 different CTRL shortcuts for keyboard operation because my gf will need to use it too.

- I don't particularly want to catalogue my files by tag as I know how my directory is structured and it's easier just to browse around.

- When I listen, I'll pick songs from many different locations according to whatever I'm feeling like listening to at the time - so Play All and Random feastures are useless for me.

The default MediaLibrary is basically perfect except for the fact that it will only play directories at a time - if there was simply exactly the same functionality but with SHIFT-Enter to Enqueue (a là Winamp) rather than Play that would be all I need. The keyboard navigation is already perfect for what I need & every plugin I've seen so far is remote-oriented with cryptic keyboard translations.

Is there a simple way or a simple plug-in to do this? Help much appreciated.. Smile

I dont what the other music plugins offer, but one of these may do what you're looking for.

The build in music library usually has a simple add to queue function, but doesnt in the most recent release due to some changes that were made. It'll return in the next build - look for <MusicLibraryAutoQueueFiles>false</MusicLibraryAutoQueueFiles> in config.xml at that time. Its not SHIFT-Enter, but Ctrl-Y.

Currently if you press play on a music file it'll auto queue each file in that directory.
