Hello all,

I'd like to clean commercials out of HDTV mpg files.
I'm in USA and use 5.1 DD AC3.
I've tried run comclean and comclean2 and retime and comskip.
So far I have no luck to get it right Rolleyes

retime doesn't produce resulting mpg at all and mp2 file is 0 size

comskip produces all files right

comclean produces file, but without sound in it :-(

What do you use for remove commercials from HDTV recordings? And how to use it right?

thanks.
Best Regards.
Mike.

I am pretty sure I have heard people talking about using video redo to do this, but I think you have to pay for that program

Are you viewing the files on a HDTV?

I cut HDTV files but they are also transcoded which takes longer than just recreating the file.

If you prefer output to be the original HD, I may be able to add something to the script if you're willing to test it.

Hello,

Yes, thank you.
I use 1080p LCD to watch my OTA ATSC, so I'd like to keep original resolution and audio (AC3).

And, yes I'd like to test your script - just tell me simple steps about what components / plugins and what order I need to set for it Smile
Best Regards.

Hi Mike,

I'm not sure if you still follow this thread but I believe I found what you are looking for. I should be posting an updated script to the wiki in the next few days.
